The Bank of Mum & Dad
is in crisis.
To highlight the effect of the UK’s housing crisis on our children’s generation, we created a campaign about that well known financial institution, The Bank of Mum & Dad. We portrayed the bank as if it were a real high street bank in trouble. We then reported on the crisis with a mock news bulletin, a press release, and various news articles. All reminiscent of the Northern Rock crash.
The film was seeded on all major online news sites and other prominent digital formats. Press and digital directed people to the Bank of Mum & Dad’s now defunct website. All media channels ultimately drove those worried about the issues to the Shelter website for the full story on the housing crisis.
